About us

New River Scanning LLC happened when passion, experience, and engineering coincided!

Built upon shared work experience, ethic, and skillset, NRS was founded by two friends, Jonathan and Danny, in the New River Gorge region of Appalachia. 

 Jonathan's background is in engineering. Having spent years as a field technician in the telecom space; inspecting, auditing, and mapping cell towers before co-founding NRS. 

Danny's background is in software and imaging. Prior to co-founding NRS, Danny worked in tech as a computer programmer who specialized in creating analytic solutions for translating field data into qualitative and quantifiable models.

The two met because of their shared love for the outdoors. After a weekend of white water rafting, rock climbing, and camping, they realized they also shared a passion for drones. Jonathan had a vision for their commercial application and Danny had experience as a Part 107 Pilot, upon which the foundation for NRS was born.

Since our conception, we have realized that true service is founded on knowledge and expertise. In our effort to serve our partners and clients to the highest order, we diversified our team and invested in specialization. Now, our team consists of individuals with overlapping experience in telecom, forestry, mining and mineral extraction, utilities, and industrial manufacturing, alongside 3D scanning, thermal imaging, and aerial multimedia.
